This book combined so many things I love into a fantastic suspense novel! When Paisley searches for her birth father, she discovers he is a Duke living in Scotland. When she goes to meet him, she finds herself in the middle of some nefarious activity, and it was exciting to see everything eventually get resolved. Paisley’s life long friend, James, is also there on business. They work together to find out what is really happening on her father's estate.
The spiritual themes woven throughout the story gave the characters depth and relatability. I enjoyed the friends to lovers relationship and the way James and Paisley supported each other. The ending was action packed, with a few unexpected twists! I loved it so much, I'm going back to read the first two books in the series. (Each book can be read as a standalone.)
